District Health & Safety Committee
Provides
advice and assistance to ensure our District events and activities
follow the BSA “Guide to Safe Scouting” and other related
guidance. Qualified members of the committee support all District field
events with safety and sanitation checks, preventive instruction,
reviews of participant BSA Health Forms, special medical and dietary
needs. Certified emergency responders from the committee provide weekend
District camping events with 24/7 communications, a first aid trailer,
and a first response team on site. They assess, triage, and treat minor
injuries or illness and coordinate emergency evacuations with the local
fire service via the 9-1-1 system.

Medicals
Guide
to safe scouting states that medicals Part A&B required for all
outings 72 hours or less. A full medical is needed for activities more
than 72 continuous hours and high adventure (Class C). Medicals must be
reviewed and signed each year.
