Does your everyday life involve Science and Technology? If so, We Need You! The STEM Nova Program was designed by BSA to foster interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Nova Counselors can be any registered adult age 21 or older. They must be registered under the new non-unit position (no fee). The Nova counselor code is 58. In addition to the BSA Adult Registration form, mentors must complete a Merit Badge Application form with the Nova area they choose to counsel. Like Merit Badge counselors, the STEM Nova Counselors guide Scouts through the fours STEM Nova Awards
Supernova Mentors must be 21 or older and be subject matter experts in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field and be registered under the new Supernova Mentor position code 52. This is a non-unit position (no fee). In addition to the BSA Adult Registration form, mentors must complete the Supernova Awards Mentor Information application. . SuperNova Mentors Guide Scouts through the process of obtaining the STEM Supernova Award.
Submit the STEM Application form, BSA Adult application, and the YPT certificate to the Advancement Committee:
